Dr. Mahnaz Javid to be UW-Bothell commencement speaker | People
UW-Bothell has announced that Dr. Mahnaz Javid, a UWB alum and former adjunct faculty member, will be the keynote speaker at its June 13 commencement in Seattle.
Dr. Javid is the president and co-founder of the Mona Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports grass roots initiatives around the world and also works to raise the status of women and girls in the United States and across the globe.
She received her master’s degree in education from UW-Bothell in 1995, later completing her doctorate at Seattle University. She also served as an adjunct faculty member at UWB for two years after completing her doctorate at SU.
UW-Bothell’s 19th Commencement will take place at Bank of America Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion on the main University of Washington campus in Seattle on June 13 at 2 p.m. Over 700 undergraduate and graduate students are expected to participate.
