Billy Idol responds to fan's odd request | Weird
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
The Bothell man who’s spent the past year trying to convince rock star Billy Idol play his birthday party is finally making some headway.
Michael Henrichsen really likes Billy Idol, and he’ll do just about anything to get the rocker’s attention.
Henrichsen is the founder and heart behind playmybirthdaybillyidol.com, a website dedicated solely to convincing the 55-year-old musician to play a concert in Seattle for Henrichsen’s birthday.
Since beginning his campaign, Henrichsen has recruited celebrities such as comedian Kevin Nealon, Olympian Apolo Ohno, Seattle Seahawk Marcus Trufant and ‘80s heartthrob Rick Springfield to help bring Billy Idol to Seattle.
While he’s been able to enlist the help of other celebrities, Henrichsen hasn’t had much luck getting to Billy Idol.
That changed this week when Billy Idol sent Henrichsen a video message wishing him a happy birthday and leaving open the possibility that someday he might actually come to Seattle to play his birthday party.
In the meantime, Henrichsen is planning his third “Billy Idol Aid” dance party next month at the Showbox at the Market.
